POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Product Quality Engineer to join our rapidly growing team. This isn't just another role. This is a unique opportunity to own the technical vision for our products, work with a world-class multi-disciplinary team, and make a tangible impact from the ground up. The successful candidate will work closely with contract manufacturers, suppliers, and internal cross-functional development teams to meet product objectives and instill a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
What You'll Do:
- Drive reliability execution for photonic components including Silicon Photonics ICs, lasers (DFB, CW lasers etc), and Optoelectronic SiPs used in high-speed optical networks.
- Partner with R&D and design engineering to provide early reliability input during the product development lifecycle.
- Define and execute qualification plans aligned with Telcordia/GR-468, JEDEC, and other relevant standards for telecom and datacom products.
- Conduct accelerated life testing (ALT), failure analysis, degradation modeling, and root cause investigations to guide design and process improvement.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Photonics Design, Packaging, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, Product Marketing and Supply Chain to ensure robust product development and transfer to production.
- Lead supplier qualification activities and implement supplier quality metrics for critical photonics components.
- Support supplier audits, assess factory capability, process controls, reliability models, and product roadmaps.
- Support the infrastructure to perform incoming component validation
- Develop and maintain Design for Reliability (DfR) methodologies, including predictive modeling and statistical analysis.
- Prepare, present and document technical reviews, reliability reports, and risk assessments for internal and customer-facing engagements.
Key Qualifications:
- M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, Physics, Materials Science, or related field, or equivalent experience in photonics reliability engineering with direct exposure to Silicon Photonics, laser technologies, and optical transceivers.
- Strong background in photonics device physics, photonics packaging, and failure mechanisms.
- Demonstrated success supporting NPI programs and product qualification from concept through volume production.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant standards (GR-468, Telcordia, JEDEC, MIL-STD).
- Proficiency with reliability modeling, statistical analysis (e.g., Weibull, Arrhenius), and tools such as JMP, Minitab, or similar.
- Hands-on experience with reliability test systems (e.g., HTOL, HAST, T/H, TC), and FA tools (e.g., SEM, FIB, X-ray, spectroscopy).
- Effective communicator with the ability to influence cross-functional and supplier teams.
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-tech environment serving telecom/datacom markets.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in integrated photonics packaging and co-design (optical + electrical).
- Familiarity with wafer-level reliability and optical wafer probing.
- Prior experience on engagements with Tier-1 datacenter customers or hyperscalers.

POSITION OVERVIEW
As an Optical Manufacturing Test Engineer, you will play a critical role in validating and ensuring the quality of Lumilens’ photonic components, modules, and systems. This role blends hands-on production testing with hardware test development and reporting, supporting both new product introduction (NPI) and volume manufacturing. You’ll work closely with optical design, hardware, and manufacturing teams to perform design for manufacturing, calibration, characterization, and troubleshooting duties for next-generation photonics technologies.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- End-to-end manufacturing test ownership: Ensure all the changes to test hardware, processes, etc. are under change control and follow established QMS requirements. This includes equipment selection and specification, tester BOM and estimated cost, test schematic diagram, test flows, work instructions, etc.
- Responsible for tester documentation and specifications. Analyze test results to ensure compliance with performance specifications and quality standards.
- Develop, assemble, validate, buy off and release the testers for production.
- Responsible for product test yield, with quality and reliability.
- Responsible for analyzing, defining, developing, and executing continuous improvement plans to achieve test yield, cycle time, throughput, and scrap reduction.
- Collaborate with quality teams for the planning and execution of qualification tests.
- Collaborate with design teams and process engineering to ensure design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for test (DFT) guidelines are met.
- Design, plan, and conduct optical and fiber testing on components, devices, and systems. Perform production calibration and testing of fiber optic components and modules.
- Maintain accurate, detailed records of test procedures and outcomes.
- Generate comprehensive test reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve product issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to support NPI and manufacturing ramp.
- Work closely with contract manufacturing partners to train operators, provide test process guidelines, and review/approval for any test change orders.
- Develop and implement the troubleshooting guidelines, including tools, templates, and data analysis for testers and products in manufacturing.
- Responsible for process control of all testers, including SPC, GR&R and other correlation studies.
- Collaborate with software engineers, IT and database architects to define better solutions to manage and analyze manufacturing test data at reasonable cost, high efficiency, and high scalability.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Physics, or related field plus 7 years experience in high-volume optical transceiver manufacturing and/or automated test system development for electronics and optics manufacturing. Experiences in transceiver module tests at 400G, 800G, 1.6T, etc., are preferable.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Expert in optical test equipment and protocols, and how they pertain to the manufacturing and design of optical transceivers.
- Hands-on experience with optical test instruments (e.g., optical spectrum analyzers, power meters, polarization controllers, bit-error-rate testers).
- In-depth technical knowledge and hands-on experience in yield analysis, problem solving, and implementation of manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with processor communication interfaces and test automation tools.
- Data query and data analysis skills, using statistical tools and techniques is a plus.
- Practical experience in SPC, GR&R, tester correlation, and report generation.
- Ability to write or adapt scripts for automation (Python, LabVIEW, Visual Basic; Shell scripting is a plus)
- Experience in ongoing reliability testing and quality control best practices.
- In depth understanding of the quality management system and quality standard requirements.
- Expertise in optics FA processes and tools.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Process Engineer who will be responsible for the development and oversight of manufacturing processes supporting our optical transceiver roadmap. Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead sourcing strategy and end-to-end supply chain management for optical and photonic components — including lasers, photonic integrated circuits (PICs), photodetectors (PDs), fiber array units (FAUs), This role owns supplier identification, qualification, negotiation, and relationship management across a global supply base, while also ensuring supplier capacity, lead times, and allocations stay aligned with build schedules and ramp requirements. The ideal candidate combines strong sourcing/negotiation expertise with supply chain planning fluency and enough technical grounding in optics/photonics to evaluate supplier capability and de-risk single-source dependencies.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain Planning & Allocation
- Translate plans and forecasts into supplier capacity requirements and allocation requests for sourced commodities.
- Monitor supplier lead times, allocation cycles, and delivery commitments, and flag gaps against build schedules early.
- Coordinate with planning and production teams to align supplier capacity and delivery commitments with prototype, pilot, and production build schedules.
- Develop and manage supply plans, balancing demand forecasts, inventory targets, and manufacturing capabilities across global partners

Cross-Functional Collaboration

POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced Die Attach & Wire Bond Process Technician to support semiconductor and photonics assembly processes in both NPI and production environments.
The technician will work closely with Process Engineers, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to support die attach, epoxy dispensing, curing, wire bonding, process setup, equipment operation, troubleshooting, process qualification, and production ramp activities.
The successful candidate should be hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with precision assembly equipment, process documentation, and controlled manufacturing environments.
What You'll Do:
- Support die attach and wire bonding operations, including machine setup, recipe loading, tooling change, and process monitoring.
- Perform epoxy dispensing, die placement, curing, wire bonding, and visual inspection according to approved procedures.
- Support NPI builds, process trials, DOE, qualification runs, and production ramp activities under engineering guidance.
- Perform equipment troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and process parameter verification.
- Conduct or support die shear, wire pull, ball shear, and other process quality checks.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Assistant Test Engineer is responsible for performing functional, performance, and reliability testing on optical transceiver products (SFP, SFP+, QSFP, QSFP-DD, OSFP, CFP, etc.) throughout the manufacturing process, ensuring products meet OEM customer specifications and industry standards (MSA, IEEE, ITU, Telcordia) prior to shipment. Working alongside Test Engineering, Quality, and Production, this is a hands-on role at the line and in the lab — running test stations, maintaining fixtures and instrumentation, and turning test data into actionable findings that improve yield and throughput as Lumilens scales its optical interconnect products into high-volume manufacturing.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final testing of optical transceivers (e.g., optical power, sensitivity, extinction ratio, wavelength, BER, eye diagram, jitter, TX/RX parametric testing).
- Operate and maintain test equipment such as BERTs, optical power meters, optical spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, TEC controllers, and automated test stations.
- Execute test plans and procedures according to OEM customer specifications and MSA (Multi-Source Agreement) standards.
- Log, analyze, and report test data; identify and flag out-of-spec units, and support failure analysis and root cause investigation.
- Calibrate and troubleshoot test fixtures, jigs, and automated test equipment (ATE).
- Support burn-in, environmental (temperature/humidity), and reliability testing (e.g., HTOL, thermal cycling).

POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Product Quality & Test Reliability Engineer to join our rapidly growing team. This isn't just another role. POSITION OVERVIEW
As an Optical Manufacturing Test Engineer specializing in software automation, you will work on test automation and networking protocols. You will help validate complex systems at Layer 1 and Layer 2 using tools like Ixia and build Python based frameworks. This is a critical role in validating and ensuring the quality of Lumilens’ photonic components, modules, and systems. This role blends hands-on production testing with software test development and reporting, supporting both new product introduction (NPI) and volume manufacturing.
You’ll work closely with optical design, hardware, and manufacturing teams to perform design for manufacturing, calibration, characterization, and troubleshooting.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with design engineering and manufacturing teams to define and develop test software for high-volume manufacturing of high-end optical components.
- End-to-end manufacturing test ownership: Ensure all modifications and upgrades to test and manufacturing software are under change control and follow established QMS requirements. This includes monitoring software revision control, bug tracking, tester updates, regression testing, test logs, etc.
- Keep documentation and test specifications up to date. Use systematic processes for test cases, results and defect management.
- Proficient in using version control systems like Github/Bitbucket
- Perform functional, regression, and performance testing on Layer 1 and Layer 2 network systems. Validate hardware and software integration with optical interfaces and network switches. Configure and use traffic generators (e.g., IXIA) to simulate network environments and evaluate performance.
- Develop, maintain, and execute automated test cases in Python.
- Continuously improve test frameworks and methodologies.
- Integrate test software with cloud monitoring and reporting tools
- Collaborate with developers and hardware engineers to identify, reproduce, and resolve defects. Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve product issues.
- Responsible for analyzing, defining, developing, and executing continuous improvement plans to achieve test yield, cycle time, throughput, and scrap reduction.
- Collaborate with quality teams for the planning and execution of qualification testing.
- Collaborate with design teams and process engineering to ensure design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for test (DFT) guidelines are met.
- Generate comprehensive test reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop and implement troubleshooting guidelines and automated tools, templates, and data analysis for testers and products in manufacturing.
- Collaborate with software engineers, IT and database architects to define better solutions to manage and analyze manufacturing test data.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related field, plus 7 years hand-on experience in software testing and test automation of optical transceiver products including Silicon Photonics. Experiences in transceiver module tests at 400G, 800G, 1.6T, etc., are preferable.
- In-depth technical knowledge and hands-on experience in yield analysis, problem solving, and implementation of manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with processor communication interfaces and test automation tools.
- Data query and data analysis skills, using statistical tools and techniques.
- In-depth understanding and practical experience in SPC, GR&R, tester correlation, and report generation.
- Experience and skill in C# and/or Python with database integration: SQL, NoSQL for test data logging and analysis is a plus
- Ability to write or adapt scripts for automation (Python, LabVIEW, Visual Basic; Shell scripting is a plus)
- Strong experience with unit and integration testing.
- Good understanding of Layer 1 and Layer 2 networking protocols. Experience with optical testing, network switches, and traffic generators like IXIA.
- Familiar with OOP concepts such as class, interface, inheritance and polymorphism
- Familiar with Windows Form or WPF
- Hardware communication protocols: NI-VISA, SCPI, RS-232, TCP/IP.
- Proficiency with version control tools and workflows: Github, Bitbucket or SVN.
- Experience in ongoing reliability testing and quality control best practices.
- In depth understanding of the quality management system and quality standard requirements.
- Capable of managing multiple test projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work well in a geographically diverse cross-functional team.
- Good command in English communication both verbal and written, including in-person and virtual presentation skills. Able to train and mentor peers when needed.
