About BJAK The original mission of BJAK is we believe people deserve smarter ways to plan, save and grow their money. This is the origin of our name. Started in 2019, we built the first mobile-first, insurance platform, enabling insurance to be accessible online by millions in the region. Today, its the leading insurance platform in Southeast Asia. Today, we are expanding ways to help people in the region — this includes spending, saving, investing, exchanging, travelling, and more. Our mission is help people get more from their money every day. We have teams working around the world, with over 20 nationalities from our offices and remotely, who truly enjoys their work. We are looking for the most talented and driven people we can find. We are looking for people who work for their passion, not counting hours. Who loves building great next-generation products, not status quo. Who cares about redefining how everyone around us can get the best financial applications, not for an exclusive few. If you're this person, we'd love to talk to you. The Role BJAK is building a Neobank Superapp for Southeast Asia. As a Technical Product Manager, you’ll own a product vertical end to end—such as payments and expense management, remittance, insurance, or wealth and trading—from strategy, outcomes, and roadmap through to the technical design and delivery of the systems behind it. This is a product where real money moves, mistakes are immediately visible, and licensing, compliance, and third-party rails are core product constraints—not considerations around the edges. We are AI-native by default, but AI is a means, not the goal. The bar is knowing where a model can genuinely improve an outcome, where deterministic systems must remain in control, and how to build products that are reliable, auditable, and trusted when money is involved. What you'll be doing - Own a vertical end-to-end — outcomes and metrics, a backlog prioritised by value / risk / dependency / strategic priority, acceptance criteria crisp enough to build and test against. - Shape the technical design with engineering — system boundaries, money-movement correctness (idempotency, ledgering, reconciliation), third-party-rail reliance and rail-down behaviour, failure/retry/refund paths, security, latency, scalability, recovery. - Make hard trade-offs across correctness, speed, cost, reliability and UX — and defend them to an engineering, compliance or ops lead who pushes back. - Treat regulated constraints as first-class product inputs — licensing scope, CDD/KYC and limits, sanctions/PEP screening, transaction monitoring, data residency and privacy. Know which are hard launch gates and which are forward-readiness. - Apply AI where it earns its place — define what it's allowed to decide, where a human stays in the loop, how it's evaluated, and what it does when unsure. Every AI-surfaced number traces back to a real record. - Ship against external gates — build feature-complete behind flags; go live per rail as each partner and regulatory gate clears. - Work across Engineering, Design, Compliance, Operations, Treasury and Finance/Reconciliation. What you'll need - Product leadership — significant experience owning a complex technical product end-to-end; strong judgement and decisiveness under ambiguity; ability to balance ambition against technical, regulatory and operational reality; can hold their own with senior engineers. - Technical foundation — solid system design (boundaries, datastores, queues/workflows, APIs, failure modes, consistency under concurrency); comfort reading, reviewing and challenging design docs; can sketch an architecture and a sequence. No production code, but technical enough that engineers don't have to simplify. - Domain — experience in a regulated / high-consequence domain (payments, banking, remittance, insurance, …) or demonstrable fast-ramp ability; understands why money movement is different (correctness over convenience, irreversible states, partners you don't control). - AI judgement — hands-on with LLM-based products; can frame a feature as eval-able (offline, online, human feedback); realistic on hallucination/drift/data gaps, including data-blocked vs model-blocked and when a model must not be in the loop at all. - Nice to have — engineer or highly-technical-PM background · zero-to-one · shipped AI-heavy consumer products · defined eval metrics for ML/LLM systems · AI UX + failure-handling intuition · SEA market experience. Outcomes - Clear vertical strategy and legible roadmap - Ships fast and clears the gates that actually block launch - Money is correct and users are never misled about the state of their funds - AI features are valuable, predictable and trusted - Trade-offs made deliberately under uncertainty and hold up when challenged - Engineering, design, compliance, and operations are aligned with minimal friction Location This role is remote, but candidates must be based in Thailand. We are hiring specifically for this market, so applicants should already be based in Thailand. Language English is our main working language across global teams. Strong English communication is required. Interview Process Our process is designed to move fast: 1. Online assessment or practical task 2. Role-specific interview 3. CEO / final round For strong candidates, we aim to complete the process and make an offer within 1 week from the start of the interview process. Candidates who complete assessments quickly will be prioritized.

Xendit provides payment infrastructure across Southeast Asia and is expanding to Greater China and LATAM. We process payments, power marketplaces, disburse payroll and loans, provide KYC solutions, prevent fraud, and help businesses grow exponentially. We serve our customers by providing a suite of world-class APIs, eCommerce platform integrations, and easy to use applications for individual entrepreneurs, SMEs, and enterprises alike. Our main focus is building the most advanced payment rails for Southeast Asia, with a clear goal in mind — to make payments across and within SEA simple, secure and easy for everyone. We serve thousands of businesses ranging from SMEs to multinational enterprises, and process millions of transactions monthly. We’ve been growing rapidly since our inception in 2015, onboarding hundreds of new customers every month, and backed by global top-10 VCs. We’re proud to be featured on among the fastest growing companies by Y-Combinator. Why this role exists For a payment-infrastructure company, the product is in large part the API. Developers are both the buyers and the daily users, and the quality of the APIs, SDKs, docs, sandbox, and integration path is the product's real surface. This role owns the developer's journey from first API call to production and scale, the difference between a developer who integrates in an afternoon and one who gives up before their first successful transaction. What you'll own - The roadmap for the developer experience: integration flow, SDKs, documentation, sandbox, error handling, and time-to-first-successful-call. - Developer activation and retention as headline metrics, from sign-up to first production transaction and beyond. - Discovery grounded in developer behavior: integration analytics, support and community signals, and direct developer research. - Partnership with Engineering on API design and DX standards, and prioritization of DX debt against new capabilities. - Clear communication of trade-offs to senior stakeholders, and translation of platform changes into a coherent developer-facing experience. How you will work You report to the Product Design & UX Director for Customer Lifecycle and work most closely with Engineering, whose API and platform decisions shape the experience you own. Part of your early work is helping define where developer-experience ownership sits, since this surface has not had a dedicated product owner before. You are the strategic owner of the developer journey from first API call to production. Your time splits between developer discovery and roadmap delivery, with constant engineering partnership. The domain works from validated findings rather than assumptions and values direct, candid critique. What we're looking for - PM experience with API, platform, or developer-facing products. You have owned products where developers are the user. - Genuine technical fluency. You can read API docs and discuss schemas, auth, and webhooks with engineers, here this is a requirement, not a nice-to-have. - Demonstrated empathy for developer workflows. You understand how developers actually work and where they get stuck. A strong plus: a background as a developer, or having built SDK, docs, or DX products; payments or fintech experience.

What You'll Own - Own a vertical end-to-end - outcomes and metrics, a backlog prioritised by value / risk / dependency / strategic priority, acceptance criteria crisp enough to build and test against. - Shape the technical design with engineering - system boundaries, money-movement correctness (idempotency, ledgering, reconciliation), third-party-rail reliance and rail-down behaviour, failure/retry/refund paths, security, latency, scalability, recovery. - Make hard trade-offs across correctness, speed, cost, reliability and UX - and defend them to an engineering, compliance or ops lead who pushes back. - Treat regulated constraints as first-class product inputs - licensing scope, CDD/KYC and limits, sanctions/PEP screening, transaction monitoring, data residency and privacy. Know which are hard launch gates and which are forward-readiness. - Apply AI where it earns its place - define what it's allowed to decide, where a human stays in the loop, how it's evaluated, and what it does when unsure. Every AI-surfaced number traces back to a real record. - Ship against external gates - build feature-complete behind flags; go live per rail as each partner and regulatory gate clears. - Work across Engineering, Design, Compliance, Operations, Treasury and Finance/Reconciliation What We're Looking For - Product leadership - significant experience owning a complex technical product end-to-end; strong judgement and decisiveness under ambiguity; ability to balance ambition against technical, regulatory and operational reality; can hold their own with senior engineers. - Technical foundation - solid system design (boundaries, datastores, queues/workflows, APIs, failure modes, consistency under concurrency); comfort reading, reviewing and challenging design docs; can sketch an architecture and a sequence. No production code, but technical enough that engineers don't have to simplify. - Domain - experience in a regulated / high-consequence domain (payments, banking, remittance, insurance, …) or demonstrable fast-ramp ability; understands why money movement is different (correctness over convenience, irreversible states, partners you don't control). - AI judgement - hands-on with LLM-based products; can frame a feature as eval-able (offline, online, human feedback); realistic on hallucination/drift/data gaps, including data-blocked vs model-blocked and when a model must not be in the loop at all. - Nice to have - engineer or highly-technical-PM background · zero-to-one · shipped AI-heavy consumer products · defined eval metrics for ML/LLM systems · AI UX + failure-handling intuition · SEA market experience. Outcome - Clear vertical strategy and legible roadmap - Ships fast and clears the gates that actually block launch - Money is correct and users are never misled about the state of their funds - AI features are valuable, predictable and trusted - Trade-offs made deliberately under uncertainty and hold up when challenged - Engineering, design, compliance, and operations are aligned with minimal friction Location This is a remote role. We hire globally and work across multiple countries and time zones. Candidates should be comfortable working effectively in a distributed, fast-moving international team and collaborating with colleagues across different locations. Language English is our main working language across global teams. Strong English communication is required. Interview Process Our process is designed to move fast: - Online assessment or practical task - Technical interview - CEO / final round For strong candidates, we aim to complete the process and make an offer within 1 week from the start of the interview process. Candidates who complete assessments quickly will be prioritized.
