This is a unique opportunity for an experienced and well-connected sales executive to take the driver's seat in building and scaling Flexport Thailand, growing the business aggressively, and leaving your mark in the market. What You'll Do
- Drive new business growth for Flexport Thailand by identifying, prospecting, and closing high-potential clients
- Own the full sales cycle end-to-end — from outbound prospecting and discovery through to proposal, negotiation, and close
- Consult with prospective clients to understand their supply chain needs and pain points, translating these into tailored, value-driven solutions
- Showcase Flexport's capabilities through compelling virtual and in-person meetings and presentations
- Own and consistently exceed personal new business sales targets through a strategic, disciplined approach
- Lead a smooth handover to onboarding, coordinating with internal teams to set new clients up for success
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and create feedback loops to keep offerings aligned with evolving client needs
- Represent Flexport's value proposition in market, identifying and pursuing growth opportunities beyond your immediate remit
- Contribute to a high-growth, hands-on team as an early hire, you'll be expected to teach as much as you learn and fill gaps outside your core role
What You'll Need
- At least 5–8 years' experience in business development within the freight forwarding or logistics domain
- Proven hunting sales experience, with a track record of independently generating and closing new business
- Established customer pipeline and network, ideally with an Intra-Asia focus
- Experience Enthusiasm for cold-calling prospects, leading discovery calls to uncover client needs, and managing accounts to create an outstanding client experience
- Professional proficiency in Thai and English is required
- Adaptability to quickly learn and adopt AI-powered tools and internal platforms

The Opportunity
The Ocean Planning Manager plays a critical role in Flexport's mission to make global trade easy for everyone. Flexport today connects almost 10,000 clients and suppliers across 109 countries. In this role, your direct customers are the partners within your region — account management, customs teams, subcontractors, carriers, terminals, and trucking providers — and your work directly supports Flexport's end customers in achieving their logistics goals.
This role is designed to hire, coach, and develop a team of planning and booking experts while navigating the complex world of freight forwarding. You'll work cross-functionally to establish a world-class planning and booking function, balancing tactical execution with adaptive, strategic leadership as Flexport builds its next operational model.
What You'll Do
Team Leadership
- Hire, coach, and develop a 5–10 person team responsible for end-to-end planning and booking of ocean freight shipments (imports and exports, including intermodal movements)
- Manage team performance and evaluation, guiding the team to meet OKRs and SLAs
- Provide direction on training and onboarding for new team members
- Empower the team to prioritise key initiatives and maintain strong on-the-job motivation
Planning & Booking Operations
- Oversee execution of end-to-end planning and booking across Ocean FCL and LCL imports and exports
- Manage and optimise overall allocation and SO (Shipping Order) utilisation
- Design and maintain scalable operational infrastructure and procedures to ensure the team delivers the highest levels of efficiency and productivity for customers
- Manage the Fulfilment Management Tool (FMT) and support feature development and enhancement
Partner & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for internal and external partners in your region, including ocean, intermodal, and drayage vendors, Account Management, Ocean Execution, Allocation, and Procurement
- Act as the primary point of contact for major carrier and client escalations
- Maintain long-term relationships with carriers and gateway carrier offices across Sales, Booking, Customer Service, and Documentation functions
- Collaborate with Procurement, Allocation, and ROM teams to inform carrier strategy and drive revenue maximisation
Strategic & Cross-Functional Contribution
- Work with gateway and global management to ensure the right metrics and data are in place to empower the team
- Monitor and improve overall cost-to-serve while maintaining high client satisfaction
- Act as a strategic consultant to global counterparts, product and engineering, and the operations excellence team on ocean planning and booking processes
- Represent Flexport's value proposition by recommending planning solutions for new clients and opportunities to the account management team
- Identify and execute on process improvement opportunities, contributing to the development of technology and systems that differentiate Flexport's operations from the industry
- Live and act with integrity guided by Flexport's values, maintaining a high bar for operational quality and service
What You'll Bring

- 7+ years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, supply chain, or ocean carrier operations; experience in a startup or top consulting firm, NVOCC pricing, procurement, or hands-on experience with main ocean trade lanes is a plus

The Opportunity
We're looking for a Senior Ocean Planning Associate based in our Bangkok office, to take ownership of space planning, carrier booking, and allocation management for Flexport's Thailand export gateway focusing on the TPEB (Transpacific Eastbound) tradelane. You'll be at the center of coordination between our internal teams, carrier partners, and clients to ensure every container sails as planned.
This role is ideal for someone who's built strong relationships with carrier offices or has hands-on experience in carrier customer service. You'll combine operational excellence, market understanding, and a data-driven mindset to help us scale Flexport's ocean freight network efficiently.
What You Will Do
1. Ocean Planning & Execution
- Manage the full cycle of shipment planning and bookings — from forecasting and allocation control to SO release.
- Coordinate daily with Account Management, Procurement, Allocation & Yield, and carrier offices to secure capacity and protect critical shipments.
- Maintain accurate space visibility across Flexport systems (e.g., FFA, Fulfillment Management Tool - FMT) and sailing schedules.
- Drive optimal space utilization while ensuring compliance with carrier allocation rules and performance metrics.
2. Carrier Performance & Exception Handling
- Serve as the first point of escalation for booking exceptions, space shortfalls, and service disruptions.
- Leverage your relationships with carrier local offices to resolve issues quickly — SO pushes, equipment release, or rollover prevention.
- Monitor carrier KPIs (on-time performance, equipment availability, service quality) and flag trends to Procurement and Operations Excellence teams.
3. Process Improvement & Market Insights

The Opportunity
The Ocean Planning Associate is a critical part of Flexport's mission to make global commerce so easy there will be more of it. Flexport connects almost 10,000 clients and suppliers across 109 countries — and in this role, you'll work directly with account management, customs teams, carriers, terminals, and trucking providers to support our end customers' logistics goals.
You'll develop specialized expertise in end-to-end ocean freight planning and booking, executing schedule assignments and bookings that help our regional account teams meet client expectations for timely departures. You'll help unblock issues, improve productivity, and build the next operational model that allows Flexport to scale.
What You Will Do
- Execute end-to-end planning and booking of ocean freight shipments within a regional network (exports), including origin intermodal movements
- Act as the first point of escalation for issue resolution and process improvement, both internally and externally, for specific trade lanes or carriers
- Ensure shipments move on time and exceptions are handled appropriately, meeting internal OKRs and SLAs
- Coordinate day-to-day operations with Account Management, Ocean Execution, Allocation and Procurement, ROM, and Ocean Carriers
- Manage soft and hard allocation with ocean carriers to match client demand and minimise shortfalls, keeping bookable inventory accurate
- Maintain and troubleshoot the Fulfillment Management Tool, supporting urgent requests from clients, Account Management, and Procurement/Allocation
- Manage allocation and sailing schedules in FFA, reporting bugs and issues to ensure accurate shipment-level planning
- Review shipment intake and adjust pre-booking plans to ensure timely SO release for relevant trade lanes
- Troubleshoot carrier bookings and escalate exceptions in a timely manner
- Use batch escalation workflows with carriers, including pushing SO release and cancelling unused SO on time to avoid penalties
- Oversee Ocean Execution, Partner, and BPO teams to control carrier booking data quality
- Monitor carrier performance locally — schedule integrity, space release, equipment availability, rollovers, and service quality
- Onboard new carriers, managing local agreements and adjusting booking processes as they evolve
- Manage carrier credit terms, long-term Seawaybill agreements, and local charge tariffs
- Support new, trial, and VIP shipments with carrier options, protecting them from rollovers
- Contribute to the development of Flexport's systems (FFA, Ocean Product, carrier integrations) to improve quality, efficiency, and compliance
- Provide input on seasonal trends and market conditions to help Ocean Execution and Account Management respond quickly to changes
- Use data and metrics to identify opportunities for improvement in your role and processes
